Eurosport has announced the extension of its partnership with the English Premier League, to broadcast matches exclusively to fans in Romania on TV and online, via Eurosport Player, for three seasons from 2016/17.

We are delighted to be able to continue to fuel that passion for three more seasons in a deal that demonstrates our commitment to invest in premier sports events.”

We will continue to bring extraordinary experiences to our Romanian fans from the most important sports events in football, tennis, cycling, snooker, Olympic sports and motor sports. This deal with the Premier League, along with being awarded the exclusive multimedia rights for the Olympic Games from 2018 to 2024 and the extension of our agreement for the World Superbike Championship until 2019, confirms our commitment to become the go-to destination for sport fans.”
Eurosport will offer live and exclusive coverage of the most interesting games from every match day of the Premier League. Coverage will be supported by highlights, dedicated magazines and reruns, to provide fans with a complete viewing experience.
Fans in Romania will also be able to watch online streams of all the Eurosport televised matches on Eurosport Player, Eurosport’s live and on-demand service available anytime and on any device.
The English Premier League, one of the most spectacular national football leagues in Europe, brings together many of the world’s top players, including Mesut Özil (Arsenal F.C), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) and Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea F.C). Throughout the three year deal, Romanian football fans are also likely to enjoy performances by local heroes including Costel Pantilimon (Watford F.C), Florin Gardoş (Southampton F.C) and the 16 year old Vlad Dragomir making a name for himself in Arsenal’s academy.
The English Premier League strengthens Eurosport’s offer which includes live broadcasts from the Bundesliga, Germany’s premier football championship, three tennis Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open and US Open), the most important cycling races on the international agenda (including Giro d’Italia, Tour of France and Vuelta a Espana), and key winter sports events (9 World Championships, 8 World Cups and 5 European Championships).
